Detection Principle

The YC-108S economical COD rapid analyzer is designed and developed based on the authoritative certification method HJ/T399-2007 "Determination of Chemical Oxygen Demand in Water Quality - Rapid Digestion Spectrophotometer" standard. It uses a closed digestion tube for closed digestion. In a strong acidic solution, a special oxidant containing a certain amount of potassium dichromate is used to dissolve at a constant temperature of 165 ℃ under the action of a catalyst, so that reducing substances in the water are oxidized. The absorbance of Cr6+and Cr3+in the water sample is measured at different wavelengths, and the COD content in the water is calculated by the instrument using the absorbance.
